About This Blog
Hi friends and family! For at least two years beginning in August 2021, I will be serving the Lord as a missionary with Farm of the Child (known as Finca del Niño) in rural Trujillo, Honduras. This blog is an opportunity for you to follow along on this exciting new journey in my life! Farm of the Child is a catholic non-profit organization that promotes the healing, education, and spiritual formation of children in Honduras, specifically children that have endured heartbreaking neglect, abuse, and trauma throughout their young lives.
As of July 2023, I have been at the Finca for almost two full years, and I can happily say that serving as a missionary at the Finca has been the best decision of my life! Serving at the Finca has challenged me to become a better-version-of-myself every single day, and it has presented endless opportunities to simply love the person in front of you at every moment of the day. My two years at the Finca have been filled with some incredible highs and occasional lows, and the Finca has captured my heart in a way I never even deemed possible! Whether it's taking the Casas 2 y 3 boys to the beach, playing an endless game of tag with Casas 4 y 6, or simply stopping by for coffee with Casa 5, the true joy of our kids and entire Finca community is a sight that will never get old!

Farm of the Child
Finca del Niño is the children’s home, elementary and middle schools, and medical clinic in Trujillo, Honduras where children receive healing care from a team of Honduran staff, Franciscan sisters, and international missionaries. Farm of the Child USA is a non-profit organization whose primary purpose is to support Finca del Niño in Honduras. Honduras is the poorest and least developed country in Central America with an abundance of poverty, violence, and crime. Many families are often weakened or destroyed due to these extenuating circumstances, leaving children with nowhere to go. The Finca provides these children with a loving family-style home, and the opportunity to overcome their prior trauma in a way that allows them to love, hope, and live fully again.

Missionaries with Farm of the Child are asked to fundraise approximately $10,000 for their flights, language school in Guatemala, medical insurance, and basic living expenses throughout their 16 months. Any excess funds go directly towards the operations of the Finca and the transformation of hundreds of children's lives in rural Honduras. I am in need of financial support to participate in this life-changing calling that God has placed in my heart, and it is with great joy that I invite you to participate in this mission with me through your financial support and your prayers. Even though you may not have the life circumstances that allow you to move to Honduras for 16 months, you can still make a difference in the lives of hundreds of vulnerable, abused, and neglected children through your financial support.
